Domain Renewal Group is a SCAM!

June 25th, 2009

It is disturbing to see companies like Domain Renewal Group operating in the United States. I just got a letter sent home from them referencing one of my Web Piston website’s domain. They say the domain is going to expire and that I should send them $30.

BEWARE of the SCAM. At Web Piston we renew your domains automatically. You do not need to renew it. If you fall for the scam, they register your domain and they become your registrar. Can we raise some awareness about this?

I found many articles online about them:

Clearly explains the scam: http://www.davidrisley.com/2008/11/03/screw-you-domain-renewal-group/

If you get any letters like the one I got I highly recommend you disregard them.

Thanks.

Web Piston Summer 09 News

June 19th, 2009

Dear Pistonites,
I hope all is well. There are some great things going on at Web Piston. We are hiring more developers to join the Web Piston team so we can build awesome new functionality that will allow you to market your site more effectively. To do so, we are adding integration with local search engines and Facebook.

Furthermore, we are beefing up the Web Piston Store to offer more ecommerce tools and integration.

We have a new project under way that will improve the functionality and power of your site tremendously. We are working hard at it and can not divulge much as we go, but I can tell you this, we will give you the tools and infrastructure to make the best looking most powerful site you could ever dream of!

Our driving motto for 2009 has been:

We are in the Business of Delivering Business!

Our goal is to allow you to not only build a great looking site but also give you the tools to market it and close sales leads. We are incorporating sales tools into Web Piston, your own Customer Relationship Management system, so you can maximize your sales efforts.

We are also building Word Of Mouth tools directly into Web Piston to allow you to market your site through your customers.

We plan on releasing these changes incrementally and you should start seeing some of these changes as early as August.

I hope all is well,

Ricardo
CEO

Website Translation

June 11th, 2009

As our world becomes more and more interconnected it is critical to be able to have a multilingual presence on the web. For example, for European Union based companies, it is becoming more and more important to be able to deliver content in multiple languages.

Google has recently release a new tool that makes translations easier.

To find more information about it please go here: Tech Crunch Google Translation Kit Article

We are currently building a multilanguage page delivery mechanism into Web Piston so you can easily translate the same page into other languages.

What are your thoughts?
